Purchasing Office Hours is a 340B University online event in which participants watch an educational video then attend a live meeting for open discussion. The live session allows attendees to ask questions and discuss operational challenges with peers and subject matter experts. Capacity is limited to provide maximum peer-to-peer interaction.
Individuals who have a role in purchasing 340B drugs must be knowledgeable about program compliance elements for 340B-related decision making in their day-to-day workflows. The purpose of Purchasing Office Hours is to provide an overview of key elements regarding both compliance and stewardship in 340B drugs, assign actionable follow-up items to apply at your organization, and facilitate an open Q&A session for you to engage with peers and experienced faculty on operational topics.

Workshop Objectives:
- Evaluate what types of purchasing accounts are needed for different inventory models, specific to each covered entity type
- Apply compliance considerations for each type of covered entity to ensure proper purchasing
- Distinguish what types of contracts and discounted pricing can be loaded into each purchasing account
- Identify Prime Vendor Program (PVP) authorized distributors and their impact on pricing, access, and compliance
Participants will learn about the workshop concepts by viewing a 20-minute video on their own before the session. A worksheet is also included in the pre-work to help participants think through their operation and bring questions to the discussion group. Participants are expected to come prepared to discuss course concepts and raise questions. Course materials are sent out about a week in advance of the event.
